Leaked retail marketing materials published by Android Headlines on October 4, 2026, offer an early look at Google's next wrist-worn tracker, identified as the Fitbit Edge. The leak points to a rebranding for the company's dedicated activity tracker line, moving away from the Charge name last updated in 2023 with the Charge 6.

Pill-shaped design and Pixel-inspired styling

Leaked imagery shows an oval color touchscreen enclosed in a smooth chassis. The interface incorporates circular complications reminiscent of the Pixel Watch, displaying metrics such as real-time heart rate, daily step counts, and active workouts.

Hardware details in the assets point to a pinch-style strap release mechanism rather than the Pixel Watch band connector. The rear sensor array closely resembles the sensor stack found on the screenless Fitbit Air, which retails for $99. Leaked finishes include Obsidian, Olive, and Canyon, matching the palette of Google's Pixel 11 Pro series, though reporting outlets differ on the complete selection; GSMArena reported five color options, while others identified three.

Reports also conflict regarding the tracker's physical inputs. GSMArena described a single button on the right edge, while 9to5Google reported metal strips on both sides intended for ECG readings, and other coverage cited buttons on either side.

Positioned between the Fitbit Air and Pixel Watch

Google appears to be slotting the Fitbit Edge directly into the middle of its wearable lineup. While the screenless Fitbit Air serves minimalists and the Wear OS-powered Pixel Watch line caters to smartwatch users, the Edge occupies the screened activity tracker tier.

According to leaked comparison sheets, the device will not run full Wear OS, allowing it to achieve a claimed battery life of up to seven days on a single charge. It pairs over Bluetooth with Android and iOS devices. Supported software includes built-in Google Maps navigation, media and music controls for services such as YouTube Music, notifications, and Find My Phone functionality.

For workout tracking, the retail documentation lists built-in GPS, automatic activity recognition, and an altimeter to record elevation changes.

Regulatory filings and launch expectations

Evidence of the wearable has grown over recent months. A pill-shaped tracker appeared in Google's official Pixel 11 promotional materials in August 2026. In September 2026, a Google wearable matching model number G8BL6 appeared in regulatory databases at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).

Google has not officially confirmed the Fitbit Edge branding, retail launch dates, or pricing. Leaks estimate a retail price between $149 and $199. Whether the hardware includes NFC support for Google Wallet payments remains unconfirmed in the leaked documentation.
