Seven months after launch, Samsung has raised official prices for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra on its direct online store. On October 1, the company implemented a $100 increase across standard storage options and a $200 jump on the 1TB Galaxy S26 Ultra, pushing the base Galaxy S26 to a four-figure MSRP.

Buyers looking to avoid the markup still have options. Major third-party retailers have not adopted the full price jump, and existing discounts keep prices at or below their original launch levels.

The Revised Samsung Store Pricing

The price adjustments apply exclusively to the primary flagship tier. The Galaxy S26 FE was excluded from the hike, retaining its $699.99 list price for 128GB and $799.99 for 256GB.

Official direct US MSRPs are now:

  • Galaxy S26: $999.99 (256GB), $1,199.99 (512GB)
  • Galaxy S26+: $1,199.99 (256GB), $1,399.99 (512GB)
  • Galaxy S26 Ultra: $1,399.99 (256GB), $1,599.99 (512GB), $1,999.99 (1TB)

Price hikes were also introduced internationally across Canada, the UK, Europe, South Korea, and India. While Samsung did not issue an official explanation to US media, international reporting and market analysts link the mid-cycle increase to rising DRAM and NAND flash memory component costs driven by AI data center demand.

Current Third-Party Retail Pricing

Third-party retailers continue to sell below Samsung's updated direct prices. As reported by GSMArena, Walmart has listed multiple configurations well below their March 2026 introductory rates:

  • The base 12/256GB Galaxy S26 starts at $730 at Walmart, below the new $999.99 direct MSRP.
  • The 256GB Galaxy S26+ is available for $840 at Walmart, compared to Samsung's $1,199.99 list price.
  • The 256GB Galaxy S26 Ultra starts at $950 at Walmart, well under Samsung's $1,399.99 direct price.

Amazon has also largely retained original pricing tiers. The retailer lists the unlocked 256GB Galaxy S26 at $775 and the 256GB Galaxy S26 Ultra at $1,300. Whether the upcoming Prime Big Deal Days event on October 6–7 will bring further discounts to the S26 lineup remains unconfirmed.

Buying Directly from Samsung

For shoppers who prefer buying directly through Samsung, existing promotions soften the increase. Samsung introduced a $150 direct discount on the Galaxy S26 Ultra without requiring a trade-in, bringing its entry price to $1,250. Buyers trading in an eligible device can also receive trade-in credits up to $720.
