Apple Set to Debut HomeView Smart Display as Hardware Details Surface
Ahead of Apple's October 13 event in New York, reporting details the HomeView smart display, including an A18 chip, dual mounting designs, and a mid-November release window.

Apple is preparing to enter the smart display market at its Tuesday media event in New York, where reporting indicates the hardware will arrive under the name HomeView. The gathering, scheduled for October 13 at 9:00 a.m. Eastern in Tribeca, marks the company's first hardware showcase dedicated specifically to connected living since the HomePod line expanded.
Apple confirmed the event on October 8, with Greg Joswiak, senior vice president of worldwide marketing, posting a teaser clip featuring an embroidered rainbow Apple logo alongside the message: "Welcome home. October 13." While earlier rumors pointed to names like HomePad or Home Hub, Bloomberg reporting from Mark Gurman indicates Apple settled on HomeView.
Countertop and Wall-Mounted Hardware Options
HomeView will arrive in two physical configurations. The primary countertop model pairs a metal speaker base with a 6-inch touchscreen inspired by the floating screen of the classic iMac G4. A secondary wall-mounted edition replaces the speaker base with a flat, square mount designed for flush surfaces.
Color choices also split by model. The countertop unit will come in space gray, silver, starlight, and pink. The wall-mounted version will be limited to space gray and silver, offering a more neutral look for household walls.
A18 Processor and iPhone Widget Projection
Both models are reported to run on Apple's A18 chip. Despite that processing power, the device will not include a standalone App Store. Instead, HomeView is expected to rely on pre-installed Apple apps and widgets projected from a paired iPhone.
Interaction will lean heavily on voice commands. Gurman reported that Apple is structuring the experience around virtual assistance, noting, "They're going to rely on Siri AI." Whether third-party developers will eventually receive software tools to build native apps remains unconfirmed.
Updated HomePod Mini, Apple TV 4K, and Shipping Windows
Apple is also expected to show companion living room hardware at the Tribeca event. Gurman reported that a refreshed HomePod mini will feature an S10 chip and five colors: pink, white, green, blue, and midnight. A new Apple TV 4K will use an A19 chip and include a remote with a built-in speaker for Find My alerts.
The hardware will roll out on a staggered schedule. The updated Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini are reported to ship October 30, 2026. HomeView will take longer to reach buyers, with deliveries slated for mid-November. Retail pricing and international release details have not yet surfaced.
