OnePlus 15 Receives ColorOS 17 Open Beta Ahead of Global Launch
OnePlus has opened its ColorOS 17 Open Beta for the OnePlus 15 in India, delivering Android 17 days before Oppo's official platform debut.

OnePlus 15 owners in India can now register for the ColorOS 17 Open Beta program, offering early access to Android 17 ahead of the software platform's formal global unveiling.
The application window opened on October 9, 2026, and closes on October 12, 2026. The timing delivers preview builds to registered users just before Oppo hosts its scheduled ColorOS 17 global launch event on October 13 at 2:30 PM IST.
How to Apply
Registration takes place directly within system settings. Devices must first run baseline software build CPH2745_16.0.10.500(EX01) or CPH2745_16.0.10.601(EX01).
Eligible users can apply through these steps:
- Open Settings and select About device.
- Tap Up to date.
- Tap the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner and select Beta program.
- Follow the prompts to submit the application.
Applicants must complete an eligibility quiz that allows up to three attempts, according to Smartprix. Approved testers receive the beta build as an over-the-air update.
Rollback Requirements and the OxygenOS Transition
OnePlus warned that early beta builds may contain non-functional or incomplete features. A rollback mechanism to OxygenOS 16 is available, though executing it completely erases all local device data.
Industry outlets report that ColorOS 17 represents the formal retirement of OxygenOS as OnePlus shifts its hardware lineup to ColorOS. Indian releases of the OnePlus 15R, OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13R, and OnePlus 13s are also reported to be eligible for beta testing.
Design Changes and Launch Schedule
The visual direction of ColorOS 17 follows mixed messaging from the company. ColorOS Design Director Chen Xi previously claimed ColorOS 17 would focus on stability and bug fixes rather than major visual redesigns. Recent previews and teasers instead showcase overhauled animations, frosted-glass interface elements, and features branded as Living Flow Design and the Laminar Flow Engine.
Following the software debut, Oppo's Find X10 series is scheduled to launch globally on October 21, 2026, in Spain as the first commercial lineup shipping with ColorOS 17 pre-installed.
