Marvel Retires Marvel Unlimited: Grab the New Comics App for $59.99
Marvel and WEBTOON are replacing Marvel Unlimited with a new digital comics platform, offering a $59.99 first-year preorder deal and a faster 30-day release window.

Marvel is retiring Marvel Unlimited after roughly 19 years and replacing it with a new platform titled Marvel Comics powered by WEBTOON. Alongside the transition, the publisher launched a discounted $59.99 preorder for the first year of its highest subscription tier.
The $59.99 Founding Member Promotion
Available at marvel.webtoon.com, the limited-time introductory rate covers the first year of the Ultimate Annual plan, which normally costs $99.99 per year or $12.49 monthly. Preorder buyers are charged $59.99 plus tax immediately, but the subscription term does not start until the user redeems the code after the app launches on November 16, 2026. The plan auto-renews at the standard $99.99 annual rate unless canceled.
Tier Pricing and Release Windows
The new app features a catalog of more than 35,000 digital comics from Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century Studios across two tiers:
- Base Tier: Costs $9.99 per month or $69.99 per year. New issues arrive 90 days (three months) after their print release.
- Ultimate Tier: Costs $12.49 per month or $99.99 per year ($59.99 for first-year preorder customers). New issues arrive 30 days after print publication, shrinking Marvel Unlimited's prior three-month delay.
The platform will support standard page turns alongside native vertical-scroll reading and enhanced smart-panel zoom modes engineered by WEBTOON.
Transition Details for Existing Subscribers
New sign-ups for Marvel Unlimited closed on October 5, 2026. For existing subscribers:
- Active members retain reading access on the legacy Marvel Unlimited app at no added charge until December 7, 2026, when reading functionality ends.
- Automated prorated refunds for remaining prepaid subscription time begin processing on or around November 16, 2026.
- Users can view and verify saved libraries through December 21, 2026, before Marvel Unlimited is removed from app stores and shut down entirely on December 28, 2026.
Billing information will not transfer automatically. Current subscribers must register a WEBTOON account to link libraries, reading history, and redeemed digital comics once the new app goes live.
