Huawei Kirin 9050 Pro Benchmarks Reveal Output Against Snapdragon and Apple
Geekbench 7 results for the Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max outline the 9-core layout, Maleoon 955 GPU clocks, and benchmark performance of the Kirin 9050 Pro.

Benchmark listings for Huawei's Mate 90 Pro Max have surfaced on Geekbench 7, outlining the core layout and processing speeds of the in-house Kirin 9050 Pro processor.
Testing under model number CMM-AL10 shows an average single-core score of 1,317 and an average multi-core score of 5,381 across runs compiled by GSMArena, with peak scores reaching 1,528 and 6,169. Notebookcheck earlier reported lower marks of 1,117 and 5,076, noting those passes may have incurred performance overhead while running through HarmonyOS's DroiTong translation container.
A 9-Core Layout and Maleoon 955 Graphics
The benchmark records show a 9-core CPU structure rather than standard octa-core arrangements. The setup pairs one ultra prime core at 3.1 GHz with six performance cores split between 2.7 GHz and 2.2 GHz, alongside two efficiency cores running at 1.75 GHz. Graphics duties are handled by a proprietary six-core Maleoon 955 GPU clocked at 1.05 GHz.
Domestic reports citing ITHome state the platform delivers a 23 percent increase in multi-core CPU throughput, a 40 percent improvement in GPU rendering, and a 140 percent jump in neural processing unit performance compared to its predecessor.
Comparative Silicon Output
The Kirin 9050 Pro's raw CPU benchmark scores place it between Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. In single-core tests, the chip still trails Apple's A20 Pro by roughly 30 percent.
However, Bernstein Research labeled the Kirin 9050 Pro an "underestimated breakthrough," reporting that its multi-core results in Geekbench 6 exceed Apple's 3nm A17 Pro. Bernstein attributed the gain to Huawei's LogicFolding 3D stacking architecture, which reportedly achieves a density of roughly 238 million transistors per square millimeter.
Huawei launched the Mate 90 series in China on October 1, pricing the Mate 90 Pro Max at 9,499 yuan for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage configuration. Huawei executive Richard Yu called the lineup an innovative milestone for China's domestic semiconductor and operating system sectors, though the company has not confirmed the chip's exact fabrication node or manufacturing partner.
