Capcom Just Brought Resident Evil, Mega Man and Monster Hunter to Switch 2

Capcom used its Tokyo Game Show 2026 Spotlight to turn Nintendo Switch 2 into a legitimate home for some of its biggest franchises. Between a full Resident Evil remake trilogy, a brand new Mega Man game, and a meaty expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds, the showcase was packed enough that it's easy to miss half the announcements if you weren't watching closely.

Resident Evil's Remake Trilogy Is Finally Coming to Switch 2

The biggest news is that the Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 remakes are all heading to Switch 2, with a digital release set for October 16, 2026 and a retail version following on January 29, 2027. Capcom is sweetening the deal with an early adopter discount for anyone who grabs the digital versions close to launch. For a console that has struggled to convince some horror fans it can handle demanding ports, landing three of the best reviewed remakes of the last decade in one bundle is a serious statement.

Mega Man Dual Override Brings a New Twist to the Blue Bomber

Capcom also announced Mega Man Dual Override, a new entry launching Spring 2027 on both the original Switch and Switch 2. It introduces two playable characters, a balanced version of Mega Man and a close range focused Proto Man, alongside a new Robot Master called Twinkle Girl and a fresh "Override" power mechanic. Series veterans will also get more than 50 custom chips to tinker with, one of the bigger ability rosters the franchise has offered in years.

Separately, Pragmata received a free Mega Man collaboration pack on September 17, 2026, giving its characters Hugh and Diana Mega Man inspired outfits, alongside a first time sale discount on the base game.

Monster Hunter Wilds and Dragon's Dogma 2 Round Out the Lineup

Monster Hunter Wilds is officially launching on Switch 2 on December 4, 2026, and Capcom used the Spotlight to detail its Ascendance expansion, which brings back the elder dragon Teostra, adds a new boost bracer attachment, and introduces 14 additional weapons alongside broader gameplay refinements when it arrives in 2027.

Dragon's Dogma 2 is getting its own Switch 2 debut on October 9, 2026, bundled with the Dark Arisen expansion. That package adds a new location called the Forsaken Dominion, a set of dungeon challenges called Lost Rites, and expanded character customization, giving Switch 2 owners a fuller version of the game than what originally shipped elsewhere.

Street Fighter 6 Keeps Building Its Roster

Street Fighter 6 wasn't left out either. Its Year 4 DLC fighter Arjun arrives October 13, 2026, alongside a new C.Viper swimsuit costume and a tie-in with the Street Fighter movie that adds special challenger screen images. Capcom also confirmed Tifa from Final Fantasy VII is joining the roster in early 2027, with another fighter named Bosch following that spring. It's a reminder Capcom is still treating Street Fighter 6 as a long term platform rather than a game it's winding down.

Nintendo's console has leaned heavily on Nintendo-published exclusives so far, so a third party publisher committing this many major franchises in one showcase is a meaningful vote of confidence. It also gives Switch 2 owners a genuine alternative to picking these games up on PS5 or Xbox this holiday season, especially with Capcom running a company-wide sale offering up to 88 percent off select titles across all platforms during Tokyo Game Show week.

With Xbox leaning on Game Pass additions and Xbox's own internal restructuring playing out, plus Sony chasing its own 2027 exclusives, Capcom's Switch 2 push is shaping up to be one of the more interesting three way fights of the next twelve months. If the Resident Evil trilogy performs well in October, don't be surprised if more publishers start treating Switch 2 as a legitimate third home for their biggest games rather than an afterthought.
