The digital-only Ultimate Edition sells for $99.99. Digital preloading begins November 12, seven days before launch. Rockstar Games has not confirmed final install sizes, though Xbox placeholder data listed an initial file size of roughly 328.76 MB while leakers claimed requirements exceed 200 GB.

The final preorder window opens as unauthorized disclosures wind down. A leaker operating as Cyberleek ceased activity on October 15 after an unreleased build campaign missed a $30 million cryptocurrency target. Regarding non-console hardware, GamesBeat reported that Rockstar plans a PC launch in the first quarter of 2027 based on source roadmap information.

Physical Packaging and Platform Discrepancies

Physical distribution mirrors industry movements toward digital delivery, with retail boxes providing download vouchers instead of physical discs. Platform tracking also prompted debate among platform holders. Third-party affiliate reports claimed PS5 preorders outpaced Xbox units by eight to one, but Microsoft contested the assertion, stating it recorded record preorder volumes and cautioned that affiliate metrics do not reflect confirmed sales.
