GTA 6 Leaker Threatens Early Release of Playable Build in Crypto-Fueled Physical Media Stunt
An anonymous individual operating under the handle Cyberleek has issued an ultimatum to Take-Two Interactive, demanding physical discs for Grand Theft Auto 6 while promoting a volatile memecoin.

An anonymous leaker distributing Grand Theft Auto 6 footage has threatened to publish what they claim is a fully playable build of the upcoming title. The ultimatum, posted on a personal website under the headline "The Offer," presents publisher Take-Two Interactive with two options: manufacture physical game discs and issue a public apology, or face a leak if an associated cryptocurrency token reaches a $30 million valuation.
Demands Tied to Token Valuation
Operating under the pseudonym Cyberleek, the leaker resurfaced in early October after weeks of silence, uploading a gameplay video roughly 24 minutes long titled "GTA 6: An Extended Leek." On October 10, the campaign shifted from sharing video clips to issuing direct demands to Take-Two Interactive.
"Here's the deal, nice and clean," the leaker wrote on their site. "CYBERLEEK hits 30 million marketcap, the build goes out, full story mode, played to the end, credits and all." The statement claimed Take-Two could halt the release by reversing its packaging plans: "Take-Two gets one way out: physical disks and a public apology. They can take it at any moment. Or they can gamble that CL is bluffing. Everyone knows which one they'll pick."
The leaker also invited skeptics to request specific scenes as proof of access, writing, "Don't believe it has full story mode? Ask for what you want to see, and it gets provided."
Physical Media Grievance and Token Promotion
The ultimatum seizes on frustration among game collectors. Retail boxed copies of Grand Theft Auto 6 do not include optical discs, instead providing a digital download code inside the case. While that decision sparked criticism from physical media advocates, the leaker has tied the issue directly to an ongoing financial promotion.
Unauthorized video clips distributed by Cyberleek have featured watermarks directing viewers to a Solana-based memecoin bearing the leaker's name. Trading in the token has tracked the leak cycle closely. Cyberleek reportedly withdrew approximately $250,000 during a sharp price spike in August 2026 before going dormant. Following the publication of "The Offer," the token saw heavy trading, recording $20.8 million in 24-hour volume on October 11.
Market reports showed varying valuations during the speculative surge. Outlets tracked 24-hour gains between 169 percent and 273 percent, with market capitalizations ranging from $2.87 million to an intraday high of $7.6 million, remaining well short of the $30 million target.
Advocacy groups focused on game ownership quickly rejected the stunt. "Using illegal means to make a point is unacceptable to us and does nothing to protect our right to keep using what we paid for," consumer initiative Stop Killing Games stated.
Doubts Over Build Authenticity
Substantial uncertainty remains over whether Cyberleek holds an authentic, complete build of Grand Theft Auto 6. Developers and analysts who inspected earlier footage noted the software was running on a PC build rather than a console development kit. That observation suggests access to internal development assets, but it does not confirm the presence of a finished, playable build.
Cyberleek's statements also leave ambiguity regarding what would actually be published. The threat could involve uploading an executable game file or simply distributing recorded video playthroughs covering the full storyline.
Take-Two's Legal Filings
Take-Two Interactive has not publicly addressed the ultimatum, but court filings show legal steps to unmask the leaker. On August 20, 2026, days after early footage appeared, Take-Two petitioned the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York for DMCA subpoenas.
The applications sought identifying information and account records from Microsoft and Discord connected to the Cyberleek persona. A court deadline required Microsoft to supply compliance records by September 4, 2026.
Grand Theft Auto 6 remains scheduled for console release on November 19, 2026, as Take-Two continues legal efforts to protect its files and contain unauthorized disclosures.
